The Mississippi Engaged Scholars (MES) program is designed to support and recognize undergraduate students who commit to sustained work with communities beyond the campus throughout their time at the University of Mississippi. Students that complete all requirements will graduate with the distinction of Mississippi Engaged Scholar, and will receive a certificate and stole for their work. Students will also receive an e-portfolio that documents their engagement, learning, and skill development throughout the program. They will also be recognized in the commencement program.
Beginning in the Fall of 2022, students in their first year will be eligible to join the MES program. MES is a program of the Center Community Engagement (CCE) in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement (DCE) at the University of Mississippi. CCE staff are available to connect students to volunteer opportunities and partnerships, offer student advising, facilitate learning opportunities and skill training. We are dedicated to student success, equity, and personal growth through community engagement. Interested students can contact the Center for Community Engagement, firstname.lastname@example.org, for additional information.
