Voter Ambassadors

The Voting Ambassador program is an 11-student cohort responsible for networking with other student organizations and faculty to promote voter engagement. These students give presentations on how to register and what’s going to be on the upcoming ballot to classes, either remotely or in person, and talk with students one-on-one to answer questions and help navigate the registration process. The Faculty Champion program is working in coordination with the Voting Ambassador program to encourage faculty members to invite the ambassadors into their classrooms and online discussions.

 

Andrew Good Foundation Vote Everywhere Ambassadors

Andrew Goodman Vote Everywhere, The Andrew Goodman Foundation’s signature program, builds a national, non-partisan, civic engagement movement of student leaders and university partners. Andrew Goodman Campus Teams are made up of an Andrew Goodman Campus Champion(s), an Andrew Goodman Team Leader, and an Andrew Goodman Ambassador(s). Andrew Goodman Team Leaders and Ambassadors are representatives of the Andrew Goodman Vote Everywhere program on their campus. 

 

Voter Friendly Campus

The Voter Friendly Campus designation program was started through a partnership between Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and NASPA’s NASPA LEAD Initiative in 2016 in an effort to further the work of the Students Learn Students Vote coalition in creating more measurable and manageable guidelines for institutions to follow in order to create a more voter-friendly campus. The goal of the Voter Friendly Campus program is to help institutions develop democratic engagement action plans that coordinate administrators, faculty, and student organizations in civic and electoral engagement. As a result of the voter education efforts led by the Center for Community Engagement, UM was named a 2021-2022 Voter Friendly Campus.
